Tom fishing on the Great Loop in his Mantus dinghy.

Interested in fishing on the Great Loop? So are we! Tom outfitted our Mantus Marine dinghy to be the best fishing dinghy that ever cruised the Loop! He added a trolling motor, two 25 Ah lithium batteries, a depth finder, a shallow water anchor/push pole, charging ports, navigation lights, and an anchor light. That’s the great thing about having a sturdy dinghy, we can load it down with all sorts of goodies! This particular dinghy already had fishing rod holders built through the cup holders.

If you’re wondering about fishing licenses, unfortunately there isn’t a single license that will cover all the fishing on the Loop, but some states have reciprocal licenses in certain bodies of water.

Below is the basic information for the states and provinces we’ve cruised through – be sure to check back for new states as we pass through them!
