The Five Fathom Creek anchorage in McClellanville, SC is located in Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. We stayed here for two nights, waiting out a passing rain storm. There isn’t much wind protection as this anchorage is located in a tidal creek surrounded by vast marshes. But we didn’t experience much boat traffic, and never received any wake whatsoever.

We just so happened to be here for the first Saturday in May, and witnessed the annual Blessing of the Fleet! But most of all the chimes of marsh wrens made this anchorage unforgettable for us.
