Indian Harbour, Florida to Titusville, Florida
Dropping the anchor near NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.
After hiding from inclement the last two days, we were looking forward to another cruising day – ending withn dropping our anchor near NASA! Other cruisers must of had the same desire, because as soon as our anchor was up, two Ranger Tugs chugged by and hailed the Mathers Bridge attendant. We got underway quickly and made the same bridge opening on our way back to the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW).
Although it was a beautiful Florida day, with temperatures in the 70’s, it was still decently windy, so we tucked into some fuzzy socks to keep our flip-flop wearing toes warm.
We experienced our first docking of the Great Loop at the Titusville City Marina, where we stopped to fill up our water tanks – for free! Then we headed to a nearby anchorage, and dropped the hook before taking Zed to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.
The anchorage we chose was the NASA Railroad Bridge anchorage on Aqua Map. There’s a rocket launch scheduled for while we’re here!
