Watch a Rocket Launch!

Before heading to this anchorage, download the Space Launch Schedule app (Apple / Android). The app will tell you when/if there’s a launch from the nearby Kennedy Space Center during your stay. It also provides detailed information about the flights.
The NASA Railroad Bridge anchorage is easy to access, right off the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. It’s immediately adjacent to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, a beautiful protected area abundant with migratory birds.
We saw one other boat anchored, but the area is expansive and they were far away. The shoreline is filled with action! We saw willets, whimbrels, sand pipers and black-necked stilts hunting for dinner.
The NASA Railroad Bridge is always open – there’s construction on the track, so no trains can come through. The Titusville Marina is just across the water to the west.
