Jacksonville, Florida to Cumberland Island, Georgia
Over 200 Miles Cruised on the Great Loop
Our 2nd state on the Great Loop is the great state of Georgia, and it’s beautiful Golden Isles.
After catching up on editing the last few days at the free dock at Sister’s Creek in Jacksonville, Florida, it was time to move on. We pushed up to Cumberland Island and officially crossed into Georgia!
Since we bought the boat in Key Largo, we have now cruised the entire ICW (Intracoastal Waterway) on the east side of Florida. This is our first new state via boat, but other than Alaska, Elyse has been to all the states, and I’m just missing a few in the Midwest, most of which we’ll visit on the Great Loop.
As soon as we dropped the anchor in Cumberland Island, a pod of dolphins came by to say hello. We’re really looking forward to hiking on the island, but first, lunch!
