This dock at Jim King Park at Sisters Creek in Jacksonville, Florida was the first free dock we stopped at along our cruise up the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. The dock itself was very nice, and in excellent shape.
Throughout our stay, the dock was busy with locals launching boats and fishing off the free dock and adjacent pier. Both nights the dock filled up with fellow Loopers, most of who continued north the following day.
There was water available, but we read some comments about the water not being potable, and we did not investigate further. In general, Jim King Park was not the cleanest – there was a lot of trash, and over-flowing trash cans. There was a bathroom, but we had trouble imagining that it would be clean, based on the rest of the park. The boat launch area had a self pump-out station. There were no walkable stores or restaurants nearby.
There is a strong current in the area, so it would be easiest to dock around slack tide.
