Pigeon point on the outskirts of Beaufort, SC

We wanted to anchor near the town of Beaufort, but we arrived at 2 PM on a Saturday to find heavy boat traffic and crowded anchorages. We cruised on, well past easy access to the downtown area.

This anchorage at Pigeon Point is right off the Intracoastal Waterway, so we did receive some wake. Overall it was a fine anchorage.

Although I have no complaints about this anchorage, I would have preferred to stay somewhere with better dinghy access to Beaufort!
